THE FED JUST RAISED RATES FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE 2023

The Fed hiked rates a quarter point this week to 3.75%-4%, its first increase since 2023, as it fights oil-driven inflation. The vote was unanimous, and most officials signalled another hike could come before year-end. For a decade the story was cuts. That era is over, and borrowing is about to get more expensive.
