OPENAI WANTS TO GIVE THE US GOVERNMENT A $42 BILLION STAKE IN ITSELF
| OpenAI is in early talks to hand the US government a roughly 5% stake, worth about $42.6 billion, with CEO Sam Altman pitching the idea directly to Trump and his top officials. The proposal would extend to Anthropic, Google and Meta, and could reshape the relationship between Washington and the companies building AI. It's one of the most radical ideas in modern corporate history. |
